Cookie Policy

Understand what the site stores in your browser and take control of optional preferences.

What cookies and local storage do

A cookie is a small text record a website or service provider places in a browser. Local storage is a related browser feature that lets a website save a limited value on the device. This site uses local storage to remember the choice you make in the cookie banner. The term “cookies” in this policy also covers similar browser storage where the same rules and purposes apply.

Essential storage supports a choice or function you request. Optional storage is used only when you consent through the banner. Pure Pixel Editorial Ltd does not use the site to place advertising cookies or build behavioural advertising profiles.

Storage used by this site

TypePurposeWhen usedControl
EssentialStores the cookie banner decision in local storage so the site can respect the selected setting and avoid repeatedly displaying the banner. After you accept, reject or save preferences.Required to remember the choice; you can clear it in browser settings.
AnalyticsWould measure broad website use, such as page visits and navigation patterns, if an analytics service were deployed after appropriate notice and consent controls.Only after an analytics service is configured and the visitor provides any consent required by law.Blocked unless the applicable consent condition is met; browser controls can also remove associated records.
FunctionalRemembers optional interface preferences selected by the visitor.Only when you enable functional storage in the preferences panel.Switch it off in Preferences or clear site data through the browser.

How the consent banner works

The banner provides three direct actions. “Accept All” records acceptance of available optional storage. “Reject Non-Essential” records a refusal and leaves only storage needed to remember that choice. “Preferences” opens controls that let you choose functional storage separately. Essential storage cannot be switched off through the panel because without it the site cannot remember the banner decision.

Your selection is stored under a local browser value associated with this domain. It does not identify you by name. If you use another browser or device, browse in a private mode or clear site data, the website may ask again because the earlier choice is no longer available.

Analytics and third-party services

The website is configured without an analytics tag. The policy table describes the controls that must apply if analytics functionality is deployed: it must not activate before any consent required in the visitor’s jurisdiction. A future change may involve a service provider processing device and usage information on our behalf. If that happens, this policy and the consent interface must be updated to identify the relevant purpose and choices.

Links in editorial copy may take you to another website. A third-party website applies its own cookie practices once you visit it. We do not control storage placed by an independent website, so read its privacy and cookie information before making a choice there.

Browser controls and opt-out

You can inspect, block and delete cookies or local storage through your browser. Look for settings labelled privacy, site data, cookies or permissions. You can usually remove data for this domain without clearing every website’s data. Blocking all storage may cause the banner to return because the site cannot remember your decision.

Private browsing modes commonly remove or isolate storage when a session ends. Browser-based tracking protection may also limit third-party technologies. These tools operate separately from our banner, so you can use both. Some browser settings synchronise across devices, while others apply only to the device in use.

Your legal choices

UK privacy rules require clear information and, for non-essential technologies, consent unless a specific exemption applies. Where the GDPR applies, consent must be freely given, specific, informed and capable of withdrawal. You can withdraw an optional choice by clearing this site’s stored data and selecting “Reject Non-Essential” when the banner returns.

California visitors may use browser privacy controls alongside the banner. The site does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. See the Privacy Policy for broader information rights.

Questions and policy changes

Send cookie questions to [email protected]. Include your browser type and a description of the problem, but do not send unnecessary device identifiers or screenshots containing private information.

We may revise this policy when website storage, service providers or legal requirements change. The published version explains the configuration and controls that apply when you use the site.
